Whisky from the 1907 Shackleton Expedition to Antarctica has been defrosted in New Zealand and 10 bottles appear to be intact. The recipe for “Mackinlay’s Rare Old Highland Malt Whisky” has been lost, but Whyte and Mackay, the owners of the Mackinlay distillery are being sent samples so they can resurrect it.
