Golden Syrup

Lyle’s Golden Syrup is Britain’s oldest brand, being sold in the same old-fasioned green and gold tin for over 125 years. Invented by a Scot, it features in many recipes. It goes well on buttered bread, and some like to sweeten their porage with it. My personal favourite is the syrup and peanut butter sandwich.
